A virtual bidding war unfolded on Arqanaonline.com from 10:00am this morning and pushed the closing time way beyond its initial deadline, with 10 bids being placed in the final half-hour.
No less than 15 investors from America, Germany, France and the UK had registered their interest for the online auction and there were still three of them battling it out beyond the €300,000 barrier. It finally took a bid of €450,000 from Michel Zerolo of Oceanic Bloodstock to seal the deal. The daughter of Le Havre will now head to the yard of Jean-Claude Rouget.
Trained by Andreas Suborics, Mascha caused a mighty impression when running away with the Listed Kronimus Diana-Trial at Baden-Baden, June 2, two weeks after her runner-up effort on debut at Saint-Cloud in a hotly-contested maiden.
Arqana CEO Eric Hoyeau commented at the end of the auction: “It has been another spirited, successful sale on Arqanaonline.com and I want to thank Andreas Suborics as well as all the buyers who gave this smart filly a go. The platform is so efficient with form horses and has really captured the interest of agents from around the world – to have three live bidders beyond the €300,000 threshold is no mean feat! We wish Mascha’s new connections the very best with their purchase.”
