Thanks to the Wild Card system, six geldings and one filly with exceptional potential in the National Hunt sphere have been added to the Autumn Sale. All of them still qualify as novices over hurdles and fences, which opens up a number of opportunities for them across the Channel. They will go through the ring on November 20.

  • From the great Schlenderhan family of ITO as well as the recent Prix de Maisons-Laffitte Gr.3 hurdle winner IZZO, ISON (lot 200) won on his debut at four, and has most recently finished runner-up in two races over 2400 and 2700 metres, from five starts to date. Last time out he was beaten by none other than ZEMINDARI, who had finished second in the Prix Lord Seymour L. behind subsequent Breeders’ Cup victor TALISMANIC. Measuring 17 hands, the gelded son of Wiener Walzer looks to have an exciting future over jumps. He will be offered from Haras des Embruns.
  • OISTRAKH LE NOIR (lot 205) is in training with Donatien Sourdeau de Beauregard. This three-year-old gelding from the family of ISLERO NOIR recently opened his account on his second outing over hurdles, beating the Papot family owned CAT TIGER by 8 lengths. The latter went on to score on his next outing.
  • Trained by Carlos and Yann Lerner, PEACE MAKER (lot 210) is a son of Jukebox Jury from the stout German family of PEACEFUL LOVE and PENNY LANE. Unraced on the flat, this three-year-old gelding made a promising debut when 3rd in the Prix de Saint-Raphaël at Compiegne on debut.
  • Offered from Philippe Peltier’s stable, DOMINGO (lot 215) is a four-year-old AQPS by Special Kaldoun out of PULIGNY MONTRACHET, herself Listed placed at Auteuil. Placed in six of his seven outings this season over hurdles and fences, he recently won nicely over the latter at Lignieres. He is still a novice under both disciplines.
  • The three-year-old gelding SALIX (lot 220) will be offered by South-West based trainer Christelle Courtade. The good-looking bay caught the eye when posting a late rush to win on debut yesterday over the Classic trip.
  • Trained by David Cottin, AVA will go through the ring as lot 225. This imposing three-year-old filly has not stopped improving. After finishing 4th in the Prix Magne (L.) over hurdles at Auteuil, she went on to finish 5th in the Gr.2 Prix Bournosienne, only four lengths behind the very good filly WHETSTONE. She also boasts a very good pedigree, being a half-sister to recent Gr.1 Premio Lydia Tesio runner up A RAVING BEAUTY, from the family of the good German stayer ALIANTHUS.
  • A three-year-old AQPS, EDEN FLIGHT (lot 230) is offered from Patrice Quinton’s stable. This son of Great Pretender won on his flat debut by three lengths over 3,200m on October 15.
