The catalogue for the 2017 Arc Sale has gained a significant boost with the addition of MISS MELBOURNE, who turned many heads when running away with the Prix Occitanie (L.) by two lengths last Saturday, her third win in a row. The charge of South-West-based Antoine de Watrigant, of GAILO CHOP fame, will sell as lot 20.
It took three starts for the three-year-old daughter of Kentucky Dynamite to break her maiden but she hasn’t looked back since. After storming home nine lengths clear of her nearest rival at La Teste in late July, she took the step up to Class 2 level in her stride, prevailing over 11 blue-blooded opponents at Deauville, August 12.
Her latest performance, in which she held off the highly-regarded PENNY LANE, VADSARIYA and GARANCE, was rated 104, which is 10kg higher than her maiden win six weeks ago.
Antoine de Watrigant has always spoken highly of the filly owned by Pierre-Jean Albigot and said Saturday that he thought her capable of winning “a good Group race”.
