Three black type fillies and five attractive young mares join the two Wild Cards already subscribed for the 2017 Breeding Stock Sale, ARAZZA (lot 170) and MUKAABRA (lot 180), meaning that the 10 slots intended for these last-minute entries have now been filled.

Reduction sale from Haras de Bouquetôt

SHAHAH (lot 160) caused a memorable impression when showing her estimated rivals a clean pair of heels in the Gr.3 Prix d’Aumale. She is a daughter of Motivator out of a half-sister to the influential sire GRAND LODGE. She delivered her first foal this year, a filly by Golden Horn, and now carries to four-time Group 1 winner Olympic Glory.

SELYL (lot 100) is an Oasis Dream half-sister to the champion four-year-old THE FUGUE, winner of the Gr.1 Irish Champion Stakes, Nassau Stakes, Prince of Wales’s Stakes and Yorkshire Oaks. Aged four, she carries her first foal by Le Havre.

AL NOFOR (lot 110) is a full sister to the triple Group 3 winner FRENCH NAVY and Group-placed juvenile GHERDAIYA. By Shamardal, she hails from a highly international family that traces back to the matron NUMBERED ACCOUNT and has shone in America, Japan, Argentina, Great Britain, Italy all the way to India. Al Nofor produced a Toronado colt this year and is offered in foal to champion juvenile Shalaa.

Also carrying to Shalaa, who proved extremely popular in his first season at stud, is the regally-bred AL ANQA (lot 190). This five-year-old mare is by Galileo out of Zaneton, making her a half-sister to Breeders’Cup Filly and Mare Turf heroine ZAGORA, who was subsequently acquired by Mandore International Agency on behalf of Al Shaqab for $2.5 million. The family traces back to TITUS LIVIUS and BRISEIDA.

Old rivals FAMILY ONE and DABIRSIM reunited

Haras du Logis Saint Germain consigns LADY FAMILY (lot 140), a half-sister to the top class juvenile FAMILY ONE. The winner of the Gr.3 Prix du Bois and Gr.2 Prix Robert Papin met with defeat at the hands of subsequent champion juvenile DABIRSIM in the Gr.1 Prix Morny. Lady Family has the two horses reunited on her page as she carries to the Haras de Grandcamp resident, who has proved nothing short of a sensation with his first juveniles. She is a daughter of Sinndar out of the Listed scorer ASCOT FAMILY, herself a close relative to LOUVAIN, also by Sinndar, and Group 1 winners FLOTILLA, G FORCE and LETHAL FORCE.

Three black type fillies on offer

Deauville-based Marcus and Stéphanie Nigge will consign the four-year-old HAPPY APPROACH (lot 120) as a breeding prospect. This daughter of New Approach from the extended family of STORM TROOPER ran up to a rating of 99 this season, taking 3rd to THE BLACK PRINCESS in the Gr.3 Prix Allez France and filling the same spot in the L. Prix Dahlia.

Jean-Marie Béguigné’s BLESSED SILENCE (lot 130) boasts racing upside as well as an appealing pedigree. Also rated 99, this four-year-old daughter of Siyouni ran 2nd to the proven STORMY ANTARCTIC in the L. Prix du Ranelagh on her penultimate start. Earlier this year, she only found HAGGLE too good in the L. Prix Maurice Zilber – the latter went on to win the Gr.3 Prix Fille de l’Air in eye-catching style.

Trained by Andreas Suborics and brought to the ring by Ronald Rauscher, SON MACIA (lot 150) is among the best older fillies in Germany. She won at Group 3 level as a three-year-old and was placed four times in black type company this term, earning a rating of 108. She notably filled the runner-up spot in the Gr.1 Preis von Europa, Gr.3 Prix Fille de l’Air and Gr.3 Prix de Flore. The four-year-old daughter of Soldier Hollow is descended from the family of German champion SCHWARZ-GRÜN.
