About the Haras de Bouquetot – Critérium de la Vente d’Octobre ARQANA
The Haras de Bouquetot – Critérium de la Vente d’Octobre ARQANA offers overall prize money of €250,000, an amount guaranteed by ARQANA. It is restricted to two-year-old colts, geldings and fillies that were consigned at the October Yearling Sale and qualified by their connections at all three entry stages. With average price for the 2016 October Yearling Sale standing at approximately €41,000, it offers a rare, affordable opportunity for owners to have a runner at the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe race meeting.
Benoît Jeffroy, assistant managing director of Haras de Bouquetot, commented on the partnership:
“Supporting the French breeding industry has been one of the key objectives of Haras de Bouquetot since it was purchased by Sheikh Joaan Al Thani in 2012. Therefore, we are thrilled to partner with ARQANA, and more specifically with the October Yearling Sale, which represents the broadest commercial showcase for French-based breeders. At Bouquetot, we strive to offer breeders competitively-priced stallions that won at the highest level and have the right profile to appeal to yearling buyers. Style Vendome, who just sired his first winner, Olympic Glory whose first yearlings will be at the sales later this year as well as Shalaa, Europe’s most expensive first season sire in 2017, are typical examples of this policy and we are delighted to make them even more accessible to French breeders via this innovative sponsorship.”
ARQANA President Eric Hoyeau said of the agreement:
“We are very pleased that Haras de Bouquetot has chosen to support the October Yearling Sale Criterium, a new race which we created with the aim to boost the middle yearling market. Most of the horses catalogued at this sale are French-bred, which makes the sponsorship of Haras de Bouquetot, a young, ambitious operation that has strongly contributed to the renewal of the French stallion roster, particularly appropriate.”
Second entry phase closes on May 31
The second entry stage for the Haras de Bouquetot – Critérium de la Vente d’Octobre ARQANA is set for May 31 and requires a payment of €250 per horse to be made to ARQANA. The final stage with be the declaration at a cost of €500 per horse.
