For the second year running, ARQANA and ARQANA Racing Club feature among the sponsors for the prestigious Moët et Chandon July Festival held July 7-9 at Newmarket’s July course.

The ARQANA July Stakes, the run-up to the August Yearling Sale

As part of the promotion for the August Yearling Sale, the catalogue of which has just come out of press, ARQANA partners with the Gr.2 July Stakes, which last year witnessed the rise of Al Shaqab Racing’s SHALAA. The John Gosden trainee remained unbeaten thereafter, notably winning the Gr.1 Prix Morny and Gr.1 Middle Park Stakes. Ten colts will face the starter for the 2016 ARQANA Juy Stakes, 7 of which won last time out.

ARQANA Racing Club showcases latest syndicate to the British public

Half an hour later, ARQANA Racing Club will sponsor the Gr.2 Princess of Wales’s Stakes for older horses. The mile-and-a-half contest was taken last year by Michael Bell’s BIG ORANGE, who went on to run 5th in the Melbourne Cup and 2nd to VAZIRABAD in the Dubai Gold Cup. Big Orange will bid for a second title this year, but faces six talented rivals headed by the dual Group 1 winner and ARQANA graduate THE GREY GATSBY.

This sponsorship will provide an opportunity for the British racing public to become acquainted with Arqana Racing Club’s latest syndicate, named Ecurie TRIPTYCH after the great racemare of the 1980s. The syndicate comprises 35 share at €15,000 each, a price that will cover all expenses for the whole two-year duration of the syndicate. The 4 horses, which will be purchased at ARQANA’s yearling and horses-in-training sales, will be placed with two Group 1-winning trainers in Francis-Henri Graffard (in Chantilly) and Antoine de Watrigant (in the South West).

Out in for to promote August Yearling Sale catalogue

Alongside this sponsorship, the ARQANA and ARQANA Racing Club teams, accompanied by several French breeders and consignors, is inviting potential buyers to a cocktail party in the Paddock Marquee.

ARQANA President Eric Hoyeau, commented on the event: “The first edition of the sponsorship was a genuine success. The ARQANA brand received plenty of visibility on the racecourse as well as on television, we were able to invite our clients in the best possible conditions as well as introduce British owners to Arqana Racing Club, a syndicate scheme that has everything to appeal to a British-based with the high prizemoney levels in France and exclusive experience it offers. We are therefore very excited ahead of our second year of sponsorship at Newmarket, all the more so as we have an outstanding August Yearling Sale catalogue to promote, featuring selected individuals from the leading families and breeding operations in Europe, including 27 siblings to Group 1 winners.”
