The Summer Sale has followed a steep upward trend in recent years that has resulted in its aggregate taking a two-fold increase since 2010. This momentum owes a lot to the sale’s relocation from Saint-Cloud to Deauville in 2012, a move that has pleased vendors and buyers alike. The catalogue, which already comprises the second tier of the breeze up sale, two- and three-year-old stores as well as horses in training, is set to continue its diversification with fillies and broodmares to be included this year.
The innovation aims to provide breeders with an additional opportunity to bring well-bred fillies out of training and young mares carrying commercial covers to the market, without having to wait until the Breeding Stock Sale in December.
Entries are now open and will close on May 23, the same as the horses in training.
ARQANA President Eric Hoyeau commented: “Our constant worry is to satisfy, if not anticipate, the expectations of our clients, buyers and vendors alike. In the present case, we observed that the breeding stock market would benefit from an additional window of opportunity, which would allow breeders to generate cash flows and turn over their stock without having to wait until the end of the season. Moreover, this extra section will add further boost to the appeal of the Summer Sale, which has become a leading hub for French and European buyers, both from the flat and National Hunt sphere.”
June 29th to July 1st – Deauville.
