Posted on | Posted in news

This year, the February Mixed Sale has been brought back to one day and will be held on Monday 8 February at the heart of the Elie de Brignac sales complex in Deauville from 11am. In total, 335 horses will go through the ring, including 137 broodmares, 57 maiden mares, 59 horses in training, 57 yearlings, 24 2-year-olds and a stallion prospect. Held in the wake of the Breeding Stock Sale which achieved record figures for the second consecutive year last December, the February Mixed Sale has established itself as the first unmissable event of the year. It enables breeders to further renew their broodmare band, and owners and trainers to ensure the rotation of their stock prior to faster work beginning on grass. The February Mixed Sale has most notably produced recent flat winners LADY SYBIL, winner of the L. Prix Amandine, AMY ERIA, winner of the Gr.3 Oak Tree Stakes, SUEDOIS, who went on to land the Gr.3 Prix de Meautry, as well as ORBEC, a winner at Listed level and Group placed. On the National Hunt side it was at this sale that the dams of Group winners AUBUSSON, DON POLI, DULCE LEO and DOUVAN were bought.
