The seventh edition of the Osarus La Teste yearling sale will take place on 11th and 12th September at the Hippodrome du Béquet (racecourse). In view of the increase and quality of yearlings inspected, the number of lots catalogued (285) is up by 37% compared to 2013.
This year again, 100% of lots catalogued are “FR” or “assimilated FR” and therefore all qualify for French owners’ premiums.
As announced earlier this year, the stabling capacity at La Teste racecourse has been increased with the building of two new yards.
The main French consignors will again be present this year. The largest consignment comes from Haras de Grandcamp (23 lots), followed by Haras des Faunes (18 lots), La Motteraye Consignment (16 lots), HSV Agency (16 lots), Haras des Granges (15 lots), Haras d’Ayguemorte (11 lots), Haras de l’Hôtellerie (10 lots), Jedburgh Stud and Haras d’Ellon (10 lots), Haras de la Haie Neuve (9 lots), Haras de la Reboursière (8 lots), Haras de Saint Arnoult (8 lots), Neustrian Associates (7 lots), Haras de Maulepaire (7 lots), Haras du Logis (4 lots), Haras du Quesnay (4), Haras du Petit Tellier (4 lots), etc.
For the first time Haras de Bernesq (5 lots), Haras du Cadran (4 lots), Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard (2 lots), Haras des Capucines (1 lot) and Haras du Lieu des Champs (1 lot), will also be present at La Teste.
88 stallions will be represented, among which: Le Havre (9 lots) leading sire in France, as well as Kendargent (10 lots), Siyouni (9 lots) and Hold That Tiger (3 lots), leading sires of two-year-olds in France.
First-crop yearling sires are alo well represented, such as Dalghar (1), Dream Ahead (1), Loup Breton (6), Milanais (1), Monitor Closely (2), Never on Sunday (3), Skins Game (1), Soul City (2), Wootton Bassett (1) and Zoffany (2).
La Teste sale will also feature the progeny of sires whose first crop are two-year olds in 2014, such as Air Chief Marshal (11 lots), Alexandros (2), Alfred Nobel (1), Confuchias (1), Evasive (5), Shakespearean (2), Silver Frost (9), Vertigineux (5) Vision d’Etat (3) and Youmzain (4), and proven stallions such as American Post (8), Aqlaam (1), Bushranger (2), Carlotamix (1), Champs Elysées (1), Della Francesca (3), Deportivo (3), Diamond Green (8), Elusive City (1), Hat Trick (1), Hurricane Cat (4), Intense Focus (1), Kheleyf (2), Lawman (1), Linngari (3), Literato (3), Montmartre (1), Muhtathir (1), Myboycharlie (12), Naaqoos (8), Panis (3), Peer Gynt (4), Sir Percy (1), Slickly (7), Soave (5), Stormy River (7), Saday Break (10), Tamayuz (1), Turtle Bowl (4), Whipper (4) and Zafeen (2).
Approximately a quarter of yearlings catalogued are out of mares with black-type performances, or black type producing mares.

The 2013 edition revealed, as early as April, quality two-year-olds such as:
Evasive’s First (Evasive), purchased by Frédéric Rossi from Haras de Grandcamp for €24,000, who won 3 races (of which the Prix Spirit One (D) at Marseille) and who has already earned €62,320 ;
Stefochop (Muhaymin), consigned by Haras des Faunes and sold for €32,000 to Fabrice Chappet, who won the Prix Riverman (B) at Maisons-Laffitte ;
Mindsomer (Diamond Green), consigned by Haras des Granges, winner of the Prix de Mont L’Evêque (B) at Chantilly ;
Cheeky Lady (Siyouni), consigned by Haras du Quesnay and sold for €9,000 to Thierry Larrivière, who has accumulated one win and two places from three starts.
Among performers sold at previous editions of the sale figure GEMIX, consigned by Haras d’Ayguemorte in September 2009, winner of the Grande Course de Haies d’Auteuil (Gr.1) ; FLAMBOYANT, sold for €28,000 by Haras de la Haie Neuve to Jean-Claude Rouget in September 2012, winner of a Listed race in the US and placed 3rd in the Gr.1 Belmont Derby ; Lastuce, sold for €4,000 to Jean-Claude Rouget in September 2011, winner of the Prix Aly Khan (B) this year at Chantilly.
