Breeders who are currently brainstorming about their 2018 matings will be pleased to hear that they will be given a rare opportunity to bid on two nominations to French champion sire Siyouni, which will be auctioned on Arqanaonline.com on December 18 & 19.
The nominations are offered by a shareholder who isn’t in a position to use them for the forthcoming breeding season and are sold without guarantee. It will be the buyer’s responsibility to seek insurance against vacuity of the mare or mortality of the foal.
Siyouni’s offspring once again carried all before them in 2017, propelling their sire in pole position by progeny earnings in France. Such a feat is achieved without taking into account the contribution of Siyouni’s leading performer this season, the two-year-old filly LAURENS, who won the Fillies’ Mile Gr.1 and May Hill Stakes Gr.2 for John Dance and Karl Burke. His younger generation of runners also includes the colt SACRED LIFE, the effortless winner of the Gr.3 Prix Thomas Bryon and hot favorite of abandoned renewal of the Gr.1 Critérium International Gr.1, as well as, in Japan, the highly regarder TANGLEWOOD, who turned many heads when winning first time out at Kyoto in early October. In the three-year-old generation, LE BRIVIDO took the Jersey Stakes Gr.3 after being denied by the narrowest of margins in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains Gr.1, while the colts CITY LIGHT, STRAIGHT RIGHT and EMPIRE OF THE STAR all placed at Group level. Finally, older horses FINSBURY SQUARE and SIYOUSHAKE again achieved Gr.1 placings in 2017.
Carried by such outstanding results, Siyouni’s international profile has followed a steep upward trend. His foals, yearlings and breeze up two-year-olds sold for up to €650,000 at 2017 auction sales, no less than 48 of them for six figures.
Siyouni’s stud fee for 2018 has been announced €75,000, payable on October 1.
Entries for the online auction are now open on arqanaonline.com.
